no. we attempted to arrange one prior to our trip but we were not satisfied with what we found. we made sure we had plenty of salt and planned on getting the hides back home, which we did. if i recall there are plenty of good taxidermists in Juneau and at least one in ketchikan. i'll get the name of the person we used in ketchikan.

My daughters are two and three now, but when they get old enough my dream is to take them bear hunting. Good job getting your daughter a bear.

My buddy & I have the Breiland Slough cabin reserved for May 6-12, 2009. It would be greatly appreciated if you had any suggestions for us. I am especially concerned about the tides and being able to get back to the cabin before night fall. Everyone I have talked to says the last 30min before dark are primetime. Do you think an archery hunt is realistic? You can email if you choose. Love your site.

Great story guys, we hunted black bear out of Petersburg in May of 2008, great hunt with about 60% success rate. Question for you. Do you prefer Kupreanof Island or Prince of Wales Island for spring black bear?
